# Thanks for laughing at our April Fool's Joke; but we're here under no laughing matters. Our archive exists via the belief that our stories can propagate new futures for our communitiesnot anchoring us in the past or being a final resting place, but an active conduit where onlookers can be inspired to use memories as a source for activism. Black queer and trans people suffer from heightened levels of state and state-sponsored violence.

Advocates for Trans Equality reported on November 13, 2025 that of the twenty-seven recorded violent deaths that year,63% were Black trans women.

A singular death in our community is a blow to our collective pasts, presents and futures. We are all we have. We must treat ourselves as living archives.
